How to verify a tenant in Bangladesh

To verify a tenant in Bangladesh, a landlord checks the tenant's national ID (NID), takes a reference, and — for the strongest assurance — a police clearance certificate. BharaKhata is building this into a four-tier trust badge so verification becomes a simple, portable score instead of a one-off paper check.

The trust-badge ladder

Bronze means the phone number is confirmed by OTP. Silver adds a matched NID — a real, government-identified person. Gold adds a live-selfie biometric match so the face matches the ID. Platinum adds a police-clearance check: verified safe.

Each tier is cumulative, and the badge is meant to be portable — a reputation that follows a good tenant from building to building.

The bachelor problem, solved

Single renters in Dhaka are often refused flats on suspicion alone. A high trust badge lets a vetted tenant prove they're safe up front — good for the renter and the landlord. These verification features are on BharaKhata's 6–12 month roadmap; the rent OS is live today.
